Street Photography
Elements we focused on: Candid, natural moments of people in public
My reasoning for taking street photography at a dog park, as opposed to in the nearest big city, was simple: when looking for somewhere to take candids of strangers, the level of weirdness involved is something to consider strongly. At a dog park, it's easy to pretend your focus is on a dog and not the person they're next to. Everyone likes dogs. Thus, the amount of weirdness is decreased.
To optimize the top photo below I did less than usual. I didn't have to adjust levels, although I still changed the contrast and saturation. I finished by sharpening to make sure there was as little blur as possible.
This assignment taught me how to catch genuine human moments quickly and subtly. It also taught me that it's possible to ask people before taking their photo and still get a candid.
